Heart Attack and Angina

The most dangerous complication associated with angina is heart attack. Therefore, it is important to know the symptoms of heart attack.
Although some heart attacks produce no symptoms, common symptoms of heart attack include:
  • Pressure or squeezing in the center of the chest
  • Chest pain that extends to your shoulder, arm, back and/or jaw
  • Abdominal pain
  • Shortness of breath
  • Sweating
  • Fainting
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting

Interestingly, women often experience heart attack symptoms that are different than those experienced by men. Women might feel:

  • Fatigue
  • Clammy skin
  • Heartburn
  • Dizziness.

If you think you are having a heart attack, call 911 immediately.
